Agility is not just for dogs! Many animals benefit from the mental and physical work out!

Midnight, a handsome black and white young male who came the New Hampshire SPCA as a stray. Unfortunately, he arrived with a wound of an unknown origin, so state law requires us to keep him on a four-month rabies hold. To help reduce kennel stress and to keep him healthy during his quarantine, he’s been taking part in our Cat Pawsitive Training! Here our staff member Emily, is working with Midnight on the “luring method� using a clicker based reward system. He's turning into quite the agility star.
Earlier this year, The New Hampshire SPCA was selected by The Jackson Galaxy Project (JGP), a Signature Program of, to participate in the 2020 class of Cat Pawsitive, a life-saving initiative that introduces positive-reinforcement training to cats in shelters and rescues. Supported by the Petco Foundation, this innovative training program for cats aims to increase feline adoption rates and maintain cat “mojo.�
